News: Frenetic Plus

by on August 6, 2007

freneticplus.jpgFrenetic Plus is a slightly older game, but very good – it’s a homebrew all-directional shooter, with interesting graphics and an RPG storyline/interface. Lots of ship, weapon, and armor upgrades, and an elaborate universe story. There are some typos here and there, and it’s really rather challenging, but all in all quite a good, ambitious effort, and well worth a download. It’s also got some eerie music by Jack Dark of Shunga Lord fame, which is how I found out about it.

The guy who made Frenetic Plus also has a game in the works called Cry Havoc, which looks like quite an interesting SRPG…seems development on that has stagnated a bit, which is a shame, because the oldschool Euro PC style graphics are mightily appealing. He also made an earlier single player RPG called Fenix Blade – these two games are set in a universe he (a fellow named Sirocco) created called ‘Solancia.’ Here‘s a video of the latest build of Cry Havoc – maybe drop him a line if you’d like to see more…
